Anyway Holiday Mash Up

The Gorman’s Grinch pup tried with all her might to steal our holiday fun…but alas, we prevailed!

The crowd spanned the ages – new edition Dali chillin’ with proud parents Justin and Rachel – the kid is a born rocker!

Now the party was supposed to end around 9:30, here you can plainly see the owner of Shorty’s 32 looking in dismay at the crowd around 11PM.  Thanks to all for coming out and making this yet another Anyway… party to remember (or not).

Tying the Irish Knot

Our own David Buttigieg tied the knot at Ashford Castle in Cong, Ireland. This breath taking wedding backdrop was built in 1228 and beautifully restored by the Guinness Family in the 1850′s.  With 300 + acres to wander, Ashford is a great place to golf, fish, shoot, and most importantly, learn the art of falconry.

Seaport B-Day

David Buttigieg, Anyway photographer and esrtwhile mascot, enjoying his birthday gathering at the South Street Seaport Beer Garden, the shiny happy Art Buyers, Art Directors, Producers, Assistants, Agents, Photographers and other fans in-tow managed to forego their hipper habitats for the touristy ambiance and actually loved it!

Roller Coaster of Death

Just another Summer night heckling the single-A ball teams and the crowd of children around us. The Brooklyn Cyclones got creamed! And when they loose, the home crowd takes it out on the Mascots and the kids, (that’s what they’re for, right?). Dave Buttigieg, seen here harassing a 12-year old from the local Yeshiva.

No-Name Restaurant: No-Doubt Good

At 10 West Little 12th Street, right around the cobble stones from Pastis, there is an infant eatery as yet un-crammed with NY foodies….but they will come. 

Photographer, David Buttigieg and friend Lisa Eisler, yucked it up in the serene patio/yard behind the brick-walled and high-cellinged bar. Tables are charming but few, so don’t tell anyone you went! 

We tried a pile of apps and were aptly served by their harried staff as our unruly group of 15 picked over the pretty dishes. The ‘Shrimp with Black Bean Sauce’ sounded like chinese take-out and was anything but. The foie gras with peaches got applause as well. The manager folded abandoned napkins whenever we went to powder….it is so nice to be treated like a civilized human being sometimes!

Muscle Club Cars: Mercury Cougar

Anyway boys get chicks with their muscle cars, like Darren’s 1968 Cougar shown here.

Sexy like a Stang, Fab like a Firebird, but we look at the steel dashboard and think ‘head-on-collision?’

She purrs like a kitten and gets at least 10 miles to the gallon. Darren bought the car from Anyway photographer and good pal David Buttigieg, who buys lemons at auction and deftly gussies them up for sale. This Cougar has lit itself on fire (which sent D screaming ‘like a girl’ from the rig), been towed a couple times, ticketed daily and has had all the rusted-out floorboards redone by a Polish welder in billyberg allegedly with old stop signs. Darren still loves it. At least today…
